Check your SPR injections: discount offer

We are happy to offer our Validation Kit B9003 in packs of three for the price of two: €180 in Europe and $220 elsewhere (+ freight). We also include a 1-month free trial license to our EpiGrammer™ software in the package. The offer is valid throughout February 2018.

Accurate Surface Plasmon Resonance analysis requires high quality sample injection pulses. Most commercial SPR instruments offer pre-programmed “System Check” procedures that diagnose injection pulse quality in order to detect e.g. leakage, blockage, or dispersion in the microfluidic system. However, such tests are based on pure refractive index measurements, and are plagued by a number of well-known errors and artefacts.

LE-SPR offers a rigorous injection test that monitors the true transport of analyte in to and out of the detection flow cell without any refractive index artefacts. Using our LE-SPR Validation Kit, the true shape of injection pulses can be accurately assessed by simple inspection.

Episentum presents at K4DD meeting, Berlin, October 16-18 2017

Episentum will present a poster at the K4DD meeting “Binding kinetics: Time is of the essence” in Berlin, October 16-18 2017. K4DD is an Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI) program on Kinetics in Drug Discovery. The title of our poster is “Kinetic Analysis of Small-Molecule Binding with Label-Enhanced SPR”.

Looking forward to getting and update on binding kinetics, and to presenting the potential of LE-SPR in this area. For any information on LE-SPR prior to the meeting, or to book a one-to-one meeting, please contact us at info@episentum.com.

Presentation at Drug Discovery 2017 Meeting, Liverpool, UK, October 3-4 2017

Episentum will give an oral presentation and exhibit a poster at the Drug Discovery 2017 Meeting, Liverpool, UK, 3-4 October 2017. The title of both contributions is “Label-Enhanced SPR for Improved Surface Plasmon Resonance Analysis of Small Molecules and Biomolecules”.

Looking forward to meeting you in Liverpool! For any information on LE-SPR prior to the meeting, or to book a one-to-one meeting, please contact us at info@episentum.com.

New product launch: LE-SPR Validation Kit

We are now offering a Label-Enhanced SPR Validation Kit B9003 to be used as a learning tool or test tool for Biacore™ users that want to get a first acquaintance to the LE-SPR technology. The Validation Kit can also be used to test a SPR instrument, or as a positive control sample during regular LE-SPR analysis. More information on the Validation Kit is found in our recently published Episentum Technical Note 012.

Episentum presents at the NovAlix conference Biophysics in Drug Discovery, Strasbourg, France, 6-9 June 2017

Episentum will present a poster on Label-Enhanced SPR at the NovAlix conference Biophysics in Drug Discovery, Strasbourg, France, 6-9 June 2017. We will display the enhanced sensitivity in small molecule analysis, as well as the enhanced specificity and the dual-colour capabilities in protein analysis.

We’re looking forward to meeting with lots of SPR scientists and other biophysicists, including old and new customers. For any information on LE-SPR prior to the meeting, or to book a one-to-one meeting, please contact us at info@episentum.com.

New LE-SPR publication

Label-Enhanced SPR (LE-SPR) can be used to clearly confirm binding site specificity. Brandon Garcia and Brian Geisbrecht at Kansas State University and their co-workers have used LE-SPR in a very elegant manner to study small-molecule inhibitors of the complement system using a standard Biacore™ T200 instrument. Taking advantage of the greatly simplified interpretation of LE-SPR data, binding site specificity was unambiguously confirmed in a way that would have been hard to achieve with conventional SPR.

The full study is recently published in The Journal of Immunology.
